Everything in our lives has countless perspectives. The challenge is to be able to see what is bothering you from new, different perspectives that you have not seen before.
Change almost always begins when we are open and ready to seize the opportunity and see things "differently". This is the first step on the path to professional and personal development and well-being. And this is exactly what we do with the tools and the approach of Points of You exploring the new hitherto invisible perspectives of our subjects.
Our tools / games, in an innovative and creative way, use the language of today - the photos, which inspire but at the same time provoke our minds.
The methodology is based on therapy through photography, mindfulness, music and storytelling and all this is combined in a "magical" experience that touches deep inside us and illuminates new paths.
Points of You cards and how do they work:
Από την πρώτη μέρα που εκπαιδεύτηκα ως certified trainer της Points of You, χρησιμοποιώ στη δουλειά μου ως Life & Executive Coach και Facilitator, συστηματικά τις κάρτες της.
Those who have worked with the tools know that they are effective in an unexpected but accurate way… Yes but why? What happens when a photo, word or question falls on the table together?
Our process always starts with a pause… A few minutes of calm, with music… And this is very important! Our mind is lost under the weight of countless information, pending thoughts, stress, noise and is no longer able to respond to new stimuli. We disconnect for a while from the "noise" and are left in the music, the levels of cortisol (stress hormone) fall and we allow our mind to organize, to sort the data, to clear space for new information that will come through the photos. Stress does not allow us to think clearly, creatively and without pause the process with the cards would probably be superficial, transient and certainly would not offer the same satisfaction to the participants. The importance of pause for our higher cognitive processes is fundamental.
And then the cards… A photo, a word, a question in relation to the subject that concerns us. Our mind arranges everything, experiences, thoughts, information and makes patterns exclusively of its own on the basis of which it travels, until it receives new material that will force it to change the layout of its shelves. Without new ideas, visuals, we will just chase our tail. We will end up repeating the same thoughts and behaviors expecting different results.
Our cards offer just that, new visuals! They create new different paths (neural synapses) in our brain and the more paths are opened the easier we will perceive new opportunities, we will manage changes, we will reject beliefs that no longer serve us.
In addition, the cards awaken the intuitive thinking which is activated anyway when we have to make decisions. The pause and focus on the cards allow us to listen to it, to get the messages that otherwise would probably go unnoticed. In addition, the card gives us new stimuli and we turn our attention to different points, so instead of hearing from our intuition what we always hear in similar cases, we may hear something different.
Finally, cards support and enhance communication with ourselves and others. Through the photos we communicate by bypassing defense mechanisms that usually accompany our conversations. Playing with the cards, the words, the unexpected procedures of Points of You, we avoid confrontation, which makes us raise walls or enter, feeling threatened, in a state of struggle or flight.
For all this and more, which can only be understood through experiential acquaintance with the tools and methodology, the magic of Points of You entered my life for good. Yes, in my life, not only in my work, because in the end, if you let go, it touches you and affects you as a whole, it changes the way you think, the way you communicate, the way you make decisions, the way you rejoice and appreciate yourself and your daily life. It is a powerful tool in the hands of the professional (psychotherapist, coach, trainer, teacher, etc.) and a gift in the hands of all who know it.
